These funky studs are made with an actual steel screw/bolt head! I hand-cut the heads off of screws/bolts from my local hardware store (or ones that I find in my junk drawers), grind down the backs so that they're smooth, and then silver-solder (braze) them onto sterling silver posts. They come with a sterling silver catch, and have been waxed to prevent rust.
